RPGaDay 2015 #16 & #17

2 minutes

I managed to be super slack and forget about this on Sunday, so here are two at a time, baby!

#16 Longest game session played Hmm, to be perfectly honest, I don’t remember. My memory gets hazy when I’m tired, so anything that lasted more than a day is long gone from my head, though I’m sure I’ve done at least one in my time. What I do remember though was a more or less day-long D&D 3.5 encounter. For fun, we decided to roll up level 20 characters and then do a single encounter against an ancient colossal wyrm, a Blue Dragon I think. If I recall, we basically sucked, because virtually no-one thought to roll up any kind of air support abilities or equipment, so the dragon pretty much flew around toasting us with breath and magic.

#17 Favourite Fantasy RPG I find I don’t actually enjoy fantasy that much. I’m far more of a sci-fi/horror guy, though the right fantasy setting can float my boat with the right spin on things. One such RPG is Numenera, a science-fantasy RPG. Science-fantasy in this case is the typical fantasy feudal mediaeval style setting, but built on the remains of super-hightec civilisations. It’s Arthur C. Clarke’s quote “sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” made into a setting, and it’s awesome.
