I finally managed to complete a game of Elegy for a Dead World, a game about writing and exploration. Previously I had trouble under Linux with keyboard input not working or the resolution breaking, but this morning it just worked after several months of forgetting the game even existed.
I like Elegy. It’s contemplative, which is a rare thing in games. Also, it’s a nice excuse to write when you aren’t necessarily in a writing mood – it’s a good writing prompt and the exploration angle makes it easy to conjure things up in your imagination.
Since I made a story in it, I figured I’d share it. The game has an export function that makes a number of pictures paired to your text so I’ve uploaded it to imgur. It’s called The Stain at the Threshold, let me know what you think!
