    Updating

I’ve found that it’s not often I have much inspiration for a long blog post. Micro-blogging seems to have become the thing for me and so for anyone that’s interested, I update with more regularity at my jaiku page. It feeds in all the information from my various other online web presences as well, so you wont be missing out on anything I post here or anywhere else if you happen to be interested.

Seattle was great. It’s a really nice place and the weather was good all week. It’s big, kinda like London – but not shit.

We spent the week doing mostly touristy things, walking around the city checking out all the various attractions. We went up the space needle, went to various parks, did some shopping, etc. At first we were a little daunted by the size, but after spending the time to walk from the hotel to the Seattle Center (where the space needle is) the whole place seemed a bit smaller and we spent most of the week on foot since we didn’t really want to try and learn how to use their free metro system.

The hotel staff were awesome and helped us out a lot with any questions and problems we had – in fact generally the customer service over there was really good no matter where you went – except the airport. SeaTac airport sucks, it was a horrible place.

There’s lots of pictures on flickr – there’d be more but my camera died and I forgot my charger :(

I’d write more but I’m not feeling too coherent at the moment. Mmmmmm, jet lag…

    Married

It’s all done and dusted now. I’m married!

You kind of expect the whole thing to be much more life-changing but to us the whole thing seemed almost like ‘just another day’. We deliberately kept things low-key though as we didn’t want some silly, grandiose, over-the-top wedding. Dru and I have been together for almost 8 years now, 3 of those we have been living together so I guess nothing really has changed. We’ve only made official what we already knew was true in our hearts.

I guess we’ve been married a long time before now in spirit and now the government recognises it too. Mmmmm, tax benefits….

I was joking with Dad about my new name (I changed my name, as well as my wife to a double-barrelled name) and how it sounded quite posh, as double-barrelled names are want to do. We were joking about when we head over to Seattle for the honeymoon, acting up like British aristocracy for any anglophiles we bump into but to be honest, I’m not sure we could pull it off, we don’t have the aristocratic look, if there is such a thing. Maybe we should call our child (when we get around to having one) Lord/Lady?

All in all it was a great day.

Wheee, look at me, I have a wife!

Hey, no worries, these things happen. See you guys sometime later on, obviously not this coming week since we’ll be in Seattle but perhaps sometime after that.

    Big Day

Jeepers! It’s the Big Day tomorrow. In 13 hours or so I will be a married man.

I can’t express how amazed and excited and happy I am. I really can’t.

    I’m getting married!

    del.icio.us Firefox Extension Troubles?

If anyone uses the official del.icio.us extension for firefox and finds that it really badly screws up syncing your bookmarks, try their newer test version on their yahoo group (requires signup).

The file is in their Files section (funnily enough).

It sorted out my issues with it on my laptop perfectly.
